This resource addresses the NEW 2023 Ontario Language curriculum expectation, Cross-Curricular and Integrated Learning: A3.1 apply the knowledge and skills developed in this grade to support learning in various subject areas and identify some ways this learning can be used in everyday life.

The History and Geography content in this resource is based on the Ontario History and Geography Curricula. All Grade 8 History and Geography units are included:

  1. Creating Canada 1850-1890
  2. Canada 1890-1914: A Changing Society
  3. Global Settlement: Patterns and Sustainability
  4. Global Inequalities: Economic Development and Quality of Life

Each unit has 4 READING PASSAGES, for a total of 16 readings! These passages can be used for individual reading practice, shared reading, and small-group instruction.
