In this workbook, students learn about Alimentation saine (Healthy Eating) aligned with the new 2019 Grade 4 Ontario FRENCH Santé (Health) Curriculum.
In this workbook, students will explore the fundamentals of healthy eating through various topics such as understanding Canada’s Food Guide, identifying nutrients like fats, proteins, carbohydrates, and fibre, as well as learning about vitamins and minerals and their food sources.
They will also engage in activities like keeping a daily and weekly food journal, understanding hunger cues, developing mindful eating habits, practising moderation, setting healthy eating goals, and learning about the importance of eating meals with others. Additionally, students will discover how food choices can impact mental health, explore tips for meal preparation, packing a nutritious lunch, fueling for sports, dining out healthily, and even planning healthy camping meals.
There is a variety of readings, short answer questions, cut-and-paste activities, and drawing prompts included to create a varied workbook suitable for many learning styles.
To support assessment practices, Ontario curriculum expectations are clearly identified on each page. A unit test is included at the end of the workbook.
