In this workbook, students will learn about various aspects of Canada’s history and its diverse communities. The content starts with an exploration of Indigenous communities and their traditional territories, followed by an in-depth look at the interactions between early European settlers and Indigenous peoples. The workbook delves into the significant contributions of different immigrant groups, such as Jewish settlers, Mennonites, Chinese railway workers, South Asian immigrants, and Scandinavian immigrants. Students will also study the impact of industrialization, the World Wars, the experiences of Africville, the Residential Schools in Canada, and the creation of Nunavut.

Additionally, the workbook covers the importance of inclusivity in Canada through discussions on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and UNDRIP. By the end of this workbook, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of Canada’s history, its diverse communities, and the factors that shape its identity.
