In this workbook, students learn about Littératie en santé mentale (Mental Health Literacy) aligned with the new 2019 Grade 8 Ontario Health curriculum in FRENCH.
In this workbook, students will learn about mental health and mental illness, including the factors that affect mental health and the impact of stress. They’ll explore the concept of the circle of control, the importance of using respectful, people-first language, and ways to counteract stigma.
The workbook covers various coping strategies, such as mindful actions, positive thinking, exercise, sleep, and social interactions. Students will also learn about the effects of screen time and social media on mental health, and discover helpful tools like mindful apps, deep breathing exercises, grounding activities, and how to establish a mindful daily routine.
There is a variety of readings, short answer questions, and creative thinking activities included to create a varied workbook suitable for many learning styles.
To support assessment practices, Ontario curriculum expectations are clearly identified on each page. A unit test is included at the end of the workbook.
