This workbook covers the Mental Health Literacy unit in the Grade 7 Ontario Health Curriculum (2019).
In this workbook, students will learn about mental health, its importance, and the factors that affect it. They will explore the concepts of stigma and mental illness, with a focus on conditions such as anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and ADHD.
Through matching activities, charts, and quizzes, students will deepen their understanding of these conditions. The workbook also covers when and how to seek support, the roles of therapists, and how they differ from support from family and friends.
There is a variety of readings, short answer questions, and creative thinking activities included to create a varied workbook suitable for many learning styles.
To support assessment practices, Ontario curriculum expectations are clearly identified on each page. A unit test is included at the end of the workbook.
