Remembrance Day Literacy Activities (Grade 1-3 Language)

This package of Remembrance Day Literacy Activities includes poetry and reading comprehension activities to allow Grade 1-3 students to think about our Veterans and the people who have been impacted by war.

There are 2 different reading comprehension activities (text and questions) about Remembrance Day and poppies. Both reading comprehension activities are provided at two levels (Level A – High and Level B – Low) to help you differentiate the readings with your learners. There is also a poetry study of John McCrae’s “In Flanders Fields,” which leads students to making their own Remembrance Day poems.
