This BUNDLE includes 40 high interest nonfiction passages. These passages are intended for use with Grade 7/8 students and the variety of passages is fresh and engaging for students year-round. This resource is completely aligned with the NEW 2023 Grade 7/8 Ontario Language Curriculum – Strand C. Comprehension.
Each passage and worksheet (as well as this teacher guide!) is written in the font Lexend, which was designed with dyslexia and struggling readers in mind, in order to reduce visual stress and improve reading performance.
A “Week at a Glance” page is included for teachers to structure their use of a text. Each text is meant to be used for a whole week, to allow time for students to do a close reading (analyze the text and interpret why details, and the text itself, are significant).
