This resource addresses the NEW 2023 Ontario Language curriculum expectation, Cross-Curricular and Integrated Learning: A3.1 apply the knowledge and skills developed in this grade to support learning in various subject areas and identify some ways this learning can be used in everyday life.

The Social Studies content in this resource is based on the NEW 2023 Ontario Social Studies Curriculum. Both Grade 3 Social Studies units are included: Communities in Canada, 1780-1850 and Living and Working in Ontario.

Each unit has 10 READING PASSAGES, for a total of 20 readings! These passages can be used for individual reading practice, shared reading, and small-group instruction.
