This project is intended as a transition task for Grade 8 students as they prepare for high school. Students will research their future high school and design a custom school spirit hoodie that represents the school’s identity. Using their research, students will include accurate school colours, mascots, symbols, and slogans in their hoodie design.
Students will also complete a school research page, where they gather key information such as school programs, teams, clubs, and important details about their future high school.
To reflect on this important transition, students will complete a “Looking Ahead” reflection. In this section, they will share their thoughts, feelings, goals, and questions about starting high school.
This project encourages creativity, research skills, and personal reflection, while helping students feel more prepared and excited for the next stage of their education.
