This resource includes 5 FINAL PROJECTS for each of the units in the Grade 7 Ontario Health curriculum.
Projects included:
1. Preventative Health Recipes (Healthy Eating)
- Students will create a recipe for a meal that can help prevent a common health problem such as cancer, Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, food allergies and anaphylaxis, tooth decay, or osteoporosis. The project involves researching the nutritional benefits of ingredients and how they contribute to preventing specific health issues.
2. Digital Safety Campaign (Personal Safety and Injury Prevention)
- Students will create a powerful and positive Digital Safety Campaign that will educate their peers about the benefits and dangers associated with the use of computers and other digital technologies. This project focuses on raising awareness of online risks and promoting safe digital practices.
3. Interactive Resource Guide (Substance Use, Addictions, and Related Behaviours)
- Students will create an interactive resource guide that provides information on substance use problems and available support resources. The guide will be designed to educate peers on the risks of substance use and offer practical information on where to find help.
4. Sexual Health Magazine (Human Development and Sexual Health)
- Students will collaboratively create a magazine tailored for pre-teens/teens about sexual health (e.g. contraceptives, STBBIs). Each student will contribute a page on a specific topic related to human development and sexual health, which will then be compiled into a comprehensive magazine.
5. Mental Health Awareness Video (Mental Health Literacy)
- Students will create a video that not only informs but also helps someone recognize the signs of mental health problems and seek help. This project aims to increase mental health literacy and encourage early intervention and support for those in need.
