They’ll learn about Canada’s Food Guide, macronutrients, and the importance of drinking water. The workbook also covers practical skills like meal preparation, mindful eating, and using food labels. Students will analyze food marketing, advertising, and social media influences. Additionally, they’ll explore healthy eating at restaurants, school food policies, and initiatives to promote healthy eating habits within the school environment.
There is a variety of readings, short answer questions, and creative thinking activities included to create a varied workbook suitable for many learning styles.
To support assessment practices, Ontario curriculum expectations are clearly identified on each page. A unit test is included at the end of the workbook.
