This culminating task for the Le sol dans l’environnement (Soils in the Environment) unit for the Grade 3 Ontario FRENCH Science curriculum (2022) is so much fun for students! It is available as both a DIGITAL (Use with Google Slides™) and PRINTABLE version. This task is perfect for remote learning, hybrid learning, and in-class learning.
In this project, students will use their imagination to pretend they have the opportunity to interview a worm. Using their science knowledge, they will imagine the answers that a worm would say if it could talk.
Students will be researching information about worms in order to demonstrate their knowledge of soil. They will answer specific questions to demonstrate their knowledge about living and non-living things that can be found in soil, how soil is important to sustain life on earth, and the positive and negative impacts that humans can have on the soil. Then, they will create 3 inquiry research questions about worms/soil to guide their own research. This will demonstrate their ability to ask meaningful scientific questions and find answers to my questions through research.
