In this workbook, students learn about Littératie en santé mentale (Mental Health Literacy) aligned with the new 2019 Grade 6 Ontario Health curriculum in FRENCH.
In this workbook, students will learn about mental health and its various aspects. They will explore concepts such as self-esteem, the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions, and the impact of positive and negative thinking. The workbook includes activities on self-talk, interpreting scenarios, and practicing mindful actions. Students will learn coping strategies and the importance of social interactions for mental health, including the effects of social media and addictions.
They will explore different mental health supports and resources, such as psychologists, social workers, family, friends, religious supports, school supports, and therapy animals. The workbook also includes creative activities like making a mental health support poster, building a mental health toolbox, and creating a “Cup of Positivity.”
There is a variety of readings, short answer questions, and creative thinking activities included to create a varied workbook suitable for many learning styles.
To support assessment practices, Ontario curriculum expectations are clearly identified on each page. A unit test is included at the end of the workbook.
