This is the first unit in the Grade 10 Civics and Citizenship (CHV2O) course, for Strand A: Political Inquiry and Skill Development.
This unit introduces students to the foundational concepts of civics and citizenship with a focus on political inquiry and the development of transferable skills. Students will explore how to ask strong questions, identify credible sources, evaluate bias, and communicate their ideas effectively about civic issues. They’ll also examine how civic engagement relates to careers and current events, helping them build skills that are useful beyond the classroom.
This unit has a variety of assessment tools such as daily workbook tasks, group and class discussions, a unit test with reflection, and an optional culminating project.
